New Releases
I’m stressing, trying to keep up with all of the new book releases lately. Authors have been feeding us book girlies lately. I’ve anxiously awaiting so many of these releases, and now that they’re all out, I’m falling over myself trying to finish them all. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I also have such a long backlog. I’m just going to have to develop super speed. Here’s a look at some of the new books that I’m absolutely geeking over.
Beg, Borrow, or Steal by Sarah Adams
Sarah Adams’ books are like a warm hug or a freshly baked pie with homemade crust. They have me swooning and kicking my feet, but they also have a lot of emotional depth. Beg, Borrow, or Steal is the third book in the When In Rome series. It takes place in the cutest small town where everyone is like family. Emily is a second grade teacher who has an ongoing feud with one of the other teachers at her school. Everyone finds him charming, but she’s hated him since they met in college. She also writes smutty romance on the side. My type of girl. Jack and Emily have the perfect banter, and their chemistry is unmatched. I loved the way Jack was so down bad for Emily. If he’s not obsessed with her, I don’t want it. My unrealistic expectations for a boyfriend have only increased since reading this book.
Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
Of course I had to include Onyx Storm on this list. If you haven’t heard about the Empyrean series, you’re probably living under a rock, but I’m willing to que you in. Fourth Wing went mega viral on BookTok back when it was released in 2023, and since then Rebecca Yarros has released two more books of the five book series. I was so excited for this book, and it did not disappoint. Although it is a little slow, its so worth it for all the world building. We got to see more of the world in this book, and I had so much fun exploring all of the new countries and governments with the characters. As expected, the romance absolutely had me in a choke hold. Xaden defiantly goes in my list of ultimate book boyfriends, but Violet was really the star of the show. She is the strong female character that we all need. I loved seing the way she stepped into her role as a leader in this book and embraced her power. I’m obsessed with her.
Deep End by Ali Hazelwood
This was ultimately my most anticipated book for 2025. I am a huge Ali Hazelwood fan, and when I heard she was coming out with a college romance I was so excited because duh. Her writing is absolutely addicting, and I could not put this book down. Ali Hazelwood always writes such great complex characters, and I always fall in love with them. Scarlett is smart, pretty, and a D1 diver. Although I know nothing about diving, I actually found myself really enjoying her diving scenes. Sometimes I struggle with sports in books because I just couldn’t care less, but this was not the case. Obviously I also fell in love with the mmc. I loved how they just clicked together so easily. It was giving soulmates. My only complaint is that he was Swedish, and I just could not take him seriously picturing a Swedish accent. That might be a me problem though.
